The Senior is responsible to maintain the general ledger’s accuracy by creating, processing and/or recording business transactions. The role requires a solid understanding of GAAP and Statutory accounting principles and the ability to apply these principles to transactions occurring on a monthly basis. The Senior will support corporate leadership and business segment senior management as Fallon Health continues to ensure the long term fiscal viability of its organization. The role requires the Senior to research, understand, interpret and operationalize accounting concepts (revenue and expense recognition) and possess the ability to apply those concepts in matters specific to the health insurance industry. In order to ensure compliance with State and Federal statute, this role will prepare regulatory cost reports and provide supporting documentation upon audit as necessary. The Senior will be a liaison to both internal and external auditors and assist in the maintenance of a strong internal control environment including participation in the Model Audit Rule documentation and testing. The Senior will assist in the preparation of the Company’s non-profit tax filings.   The Financial Accounting and Reporting Senior Accountant will employ expertise in exercising their finance duties as they contribute to the execution and development of reporting and assist with meeting corporate objectives. They will use their knowledge base to address a diverse range of complex problems, gather and analyze relevant data and exercise judgement in the development of appropriate recommendations and solutions.  The Senior works with limited direction within well-defined policies and practices. The Senior will provide guidance that could have substantial impact on the Organization and its resources, therefore, they will need to interact successfully with management and senior personnel.  The successful candidate is expected to be a strong contributor on a high performing financial accounting and reporting team.

Documents pertinent information enabling tracking of group/subscriber/member and eligibility and adheres to internal and external SLA’s.  With speed, accuracy, and integrity, ensures that enrollee data for Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, NaviCare, Summit Elder Care, Fallon Health Weinberg and any future regulatory products is entered into Fallon Health’s core system.  Completes work accurately and timely to remain in compliance with DOI, CMS and EOHHS regulations.  Appropriately escalates concerns when necessary and follows issues through to closure.  Problems not clearly defined by written directives or instructions are reviewed with the Enrollment & Billing Operations Supervisor or Enrollment & Billing Operations Manager to determine course of action.   The Enrollment & Billing Operations Representative III collaborates effectively with co-workers and other departments to ensure quality service to our internal and external customers. Interacts with departments such as Accounting, Sales and Regulatory Affairs.  Maintains a positive approach to issues and concerns as they arise and works to identify and recommend process improvements to his/her direct supervisor/manager.  Responsible for ensuring the integrity of information being entered & maintained within the QNXT system.  Must have the ability to analyze various situations and be able to make independent decisions on best practices in the interest of the members and the health plan.  The Enrollment & Billing Operations Representative III is considered the main resource person for all Regulatory staff for issues regarding the eligibility and reconciliation processes and will assist the Management team with projects and/or daily workload for all regulatory products.  Responsible to reconcile the accuracy of payment file received from online premium payment vendor. Responsible for maintaining accuracy of Regulatory receivables based on dollars billed and received from customers, State and Federal agencies.  Assist Account & Provider Configuration in working updates needed in sponsor configuration.  This is handled through working DI reports.   Pre-requisites for success in this position include: Strong verbal & written communication skills including demonstrated excellence in telephone communication skills; strong organizational skills, computer skills.  Performs all functions necessary to maintain accurate subsidiary accounts receivable and ensures accuracy of premium bills.  Analyze/reconcile receivables balance for Commercial and Regulatory products to identify problems with payments and/or impose the delinquency process.  Study the contractual terms and conditions to ensure payments received meet the contractual requirements.   Handles confidential customer information. The Care Coordinator or Navigator seeks to establish telephonic and face to face (depending upon product and circumstance) relationships with the member/caregiver(s) and provider partners to better ensure ongoing service provision and care coordination, consistent with the member specific care plan. This includes, a thorough performance review of end-to-end process across all Stars measures, inclusive of KPI identification, accountability tracking and review as well as oversight of all LOB activities and plans. Additionally this role will work with business areas to design, develop, modify and test reports to support business needs and transaction management in support of Fallon’s 5 star rating goals. This includes engaging leaders and business owners to help define, shape and drive Stars performance. The analyst will leverage their analytic skill set and experience with large health care data sets to identify and communicate trends as well as prioritize and recommend improvements through data-driven analysis. The Medicare 5 star Program Manager will also be responsible for investigating specific areas of concern with 5 star performance. The objective of the Medicare 5 star Program Manager activities is to qualify Fallon Health performance with real time date with the goal of creating  actionable activities to improve performance.   It is also expected that this role proactively identifies and addresses scalability and performance bottlenecks to support efficiencies.  They are consultative to the business and accountable for the quality and effectiveness of the data in the subject area across all related systems (QNXT, data warehouse) and are expected to be subject matter experts for this data.

This team of professionals is an essential component of the Summit ElderCare PACE program. The team uses a collaborative approach to care planning and is called the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT). The IDT is comprised of Providers (MD/DO and NP/PA), Nurses, Social Workers, Physical and Occupational Therapists, Dieticians, Health Aides, Recreation staff, Home Care and Transportation Coordinators and Site Administrator. This approach to care is the gold standard for complex and frail older adults who wish to avoid nursing home placement.
